The Healthy Benefits of Distilled Water

People usually do not think what they are drinking is going to have anything to do their diet or losing weight. However, cutting out certain drinks and picking up new drinking habits could be key to losing weight and staying healthy. Soft drinks are the most popular drinks in America. Unfortunately, the popularity is among the children over the adults. Soft drinks are full of caffeine and sugar, which is not something we want the children of our country hyped up on. Many people know that water is the healthiest drink to choose. It is a well known fact that a human can live for weeks without food, but only days without water. Most people drink purified water, which is great! As long as drinking water is clean, it doesn't matter what kind they drink. However, if the goal is to lose weight as well as be healthy, distilled water should be considered.
What is distilled water? Distilled water is water which has been heated to the boiling point so that impurities are separated from the water which itself becomes vapor or steam. The difference between purified water and distilled water is that distilled water has no minerals, unlike purified bottled water. It is well known that our drinking water is filled with impurities and disease from sewage systems. Distilled water does not have this problem. Some people worry that distilled water will rob our bodies of natural minerals. However, this is not true. Distilled water is a good way to clense the body. It removes impurities, and has been known to flush the body of its water weight. Losing the bodies water weight would lead to dramatic weight loss. A large portion of the bodies weight is water weight. This diet is good for fast weight loss, but continuing this diet for a long period of time could be unhealthy.

SPRING...BREAK

The two most feared words in a teenage girl’s vocabulary are…SPRING BREAK. There is a reason why women choose dieting as their new year’s resolution. Women may claim it’s to “become healthier” in a New Year, but come on. The second the clock strikes midnight on January first, girls begin to count down the days to Spring Break. Worried they will not be able to shed off the pounds gained during the holidays, girls work out vigorously in the three months before Spring Break. As a result to this fear, girls join gyms and begin to workout in order to fill their bathing suits with their dream bodies. Not only do the workout machines become more occupied, but tanning beds also get frequent visits from customers. No girl wants to be the palest girl on the beach!
I interviewed Arielle Anderson for some advice to add to my blog. Arielle works at Tony’s Gym, and knows of the increasing membership in the spring time. Arielle works part time, so she only sees the members that come in to work out between the times of 4:00-8:00 p.m. However, she noticed a significant change in the amount of is its members after the New Year. She said that tanning beds and certain work out machines become more occupied. “It’s obvious that Spring Break is getting close”, she said. I asked her what machines are the most popular, and she said that there are always people working on the elliptical and abb machines. She says that the tanning beds are almost always occupied during the months of February and March. Gym memberships start to decline as summer approaches. This shows that girls are most aware of their body image around Spring Break. Girls want to feel confident in a bathing suit while on the beach. Girls just need to stay motivated and dedicate to working out, and those Spring Break bodies shouldn’t be a problem.
