Primates are not meant to have primates as pets.

There was recently a situation in which a pet chimpanzee went wild. A lady had owned the chimp for many years and never had much trouble with it. However, a few weeks ago, the chimpanzee turned on the owner and began to attack a neighbor. Local enforcement had to come and take control of the chimp, but this was not done without killing it. This just shows that chimpanzees are not good pets. They may be smart, and but having a pet with such a high level of knowledge can be dangerous. There have been many chimpanzee attacks in the past, and the attacks could decrease if people would stop getting these primates for pets. The chimpanzee that was killed used to be in the Old Navy commercials. I guess we won't be seeing him in any more of the commercials.

A Heathy Habit-Get Some Sleep!




Today, society puts such an emphasis on being active and staying in shape. People think they can only loose weight while moving. This is actually untrue. Sleep is actually a very healthy way to loose weight. There will not be rapid weight loss, but studies have shown that women who sleep less than seven hours per night weigh about five punds more than the women that get more than seven hours of sleep each night. People usually think they are not gaining anything beneficial by sleeping but this is not true. While sleeping, the whole body is able to relax. The muscles, joints, body, and mind are able to get rest. Getting more sleep, and making sure the body is well rested will enable the body to function better. In some cases, people are able to function properly without the appropriate amount of sleep. However, the lack of sleep will catch up with these people eventually. Ways to ensure a good night sleep are simple. Go to bed earlier. If it is going to be an early morning, count back and make sure at least seven hours are going to be spent asleep. If a good nights sleep is accomplished, it makes it easier to wake up and feel well-rested rather than drowsy. If trouble getting to sleep is the problem, exercise. Exercising will make the body tired, and in need of rest. There is nothing like a good nights sleep after a work out. Studies show that women who get more sleep have a higher metabolism. How Skinny Is Too Skinny?


A major question floating about Hollywood is: How skinny is too skinny? Many celebrities push this rule to the max. It is one thing to be thin and tone, but when when bones begin to show, there is something wrong. Take Nicole Richie for example, she started her 20's a full healthy woman, but as time passed she began to get skinnier and skinner. Finally she looked like a skeleton with skin. (Pictures above) It is terrible that these are the people that young girls look up too. When these young girls see their favorite celebrity skinny enough to fit into children's clothing, they are going to assume this is the "cool thing" to do. Girls may begin to think they are "too fat", and go on diets. These problems begin with girls as young as upper elementary school and middle school. These years are the most insecure years of a young girl's life. In some cases, eating disorders may form. This leads to rapid weight loss, but is ultimatley very unhealthy. Young girls need to be informed that there is such a thing as "too skinny". For example, Nicole Richie became so skinny, people were worried for her life. Excessive weight loss can be dangerous. If girls are willing to loose weight, they are going to have to be aware that there are right and wrong ways to do it. The Key to Toning Up-Motivation




What will make a girl want to work out? Most girls do not just get the sudden will to hit the gym. All it takes is sweet treat at the end of the day to throw a girl's motivation completely off. What will give a girl the will power to go to the gym every day? There is a secret, and this secret is key to getting that body ready for swim suit season. This is secret is motivation. If a girl has the motivation to work out, they will be set. However, this motivation can be thrown off by the smallest things, such as a good show coming on t.v. or a major sale at the mall. Either of these events could lead to a definite "no no" in the world of working out. This "no no " would be naughty nibbling. In some cases, nibbling between meals is okay, but the snack most girls choose is usually not going to be anything healthy. It might end up being a brownie, a bag of chips, or maybe a bowl of ice cream. Once again, the only thing that can fix this afternoon craving, and get a girl to the gym is a motivation. What is motivating enough to get a girl to a gym? Try posting pictures of Victoria's Secret models all over the house, on the refrigerator, in the bathroom, on the door to the pantry, and maybe in front of the closet. It is important to put a motivating picture in the right places. Say a naughty nibbler goes to the pantry for an afternoon snack (instead of hitting the gym), and they come face to face with a picture of their dream body for Spring Break. They might think twice about that brownie they were reaching for. Girls should also try putting a picture up on the mirror in the bathroom. It will force the girl to look at herself, and see the changes that she wants to accomplish. This may seem depressing at first, but if the motivation works in ways that it should, the girl should soon see results.
